Under the project name Storchenschnabel, we developed our Z50-36. For the Storchenschnabel we deviate from our usual nomenclature and do not use the inner width as the second digit (here 29mm), but instead the outer width – the width of the rim. With 35.5mm at the bead and 37mm at the centre, the Z50-36 offers perfect performance for all gravel racers who can manage with a 35mm wide tyre at the front.

Our calculations show an aerodynamic advantage of 5–9 watts compared to 30mm wide gravel rims of the same height. A 36mm width and an inner width of 29mm results in a bead wall thickness of 5.5mm – making this rim significantly more resistant than conventional gravel rims.
